What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

Posted by: Richard Dane on 29 December 2011

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Anyway, links:

I cant get enough of this CD album.

How i missed this when it came out on the 22nd September 2008 ??

I can see why people went mad for it on the Hoffman forum when it came out.

The SQ is stunning.

It can be bought so cheap from amazon sellers now.

I am off to find a vinyl copy.

Stu.

reubs,

The cover art is right up your street

I dont think the music will be?

Only going by what you have posted though.

It comes up under Rock when i ripped it.

Its a cross between Rock/folk/country imo

Have a listen on spotty or the tube.

ROUGH TRADE album.

Sumptuous production.

How many tracks do you have on your album?

How can you tell its a sumptuous production using a B&W Zeppelin iPod classic?

I have 14 tracks. I have the feeling I should have Hundred Dollar Bill on there (I don't) but it was the flip side of the Born to Die single, so I've put it on an iTunes playlist.

The cover of that album is great; almost as good as Merriweather Post Pavillion.  Ive actually been listening to the First Aid Kit album which just came out; been described online as the Norwegian Pierces-maybe up your street?

Cheers

Steve,

You have some nice vinyl in your collection man.

Stu.

Thanks Stu. Only a very, very small portion shown so far. I've been collecting for many years. Looking at what I posted over the last few days I guess I'm showing a bit of my hippy past

Steve

How many vinyl albums do you have ?

I sold off my original collection when cd came out in the 80's.

To this day its the most stupid thing i have ever done.

Spent years trying to get them back on cd.

Then again over the last few years getting them back on vinyl.

So many cant be found any more on vinyl or cd.

Stu.

The Zeppelin Air is an outstanding and very capable piece of kit.

I know how good the B&W Zepp is ,I had one in my bedroom for 3 nearly 4 years.

Running off ipod and iTouch.

You play the cd  in your den then in the Kitchen then on the main system.

You will hear what i meant.

I was only having a play with reubs.

One of the greatest debut albums of all time. As fresh as the day it was released. Stunningly well recorded.
