What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

For whatever reason I've always listened to Leftfield's Greatest Hit album which seems to run out of steam half way through (a not uncommon failing of such an album IMO!). Discovering Letfism in my son's collection has been wonderful, it's the sort of album you can leave on repeat and it just gets better with each playing!

Looking forward to the Black gold version!

THe vinyl copy arrive last week and, as you said Tony, somewhat better than the CD (an understatement by miles!).  I've played it several time already, it created an amazing sound in my lounge.

Karl,

Glad to hear you're enjoying  them on vinyl even more. It's one of my favourites albums and  whenever I purchase a new hifi bit it's always first port of call to check SQ. Happy listening

Saint-Saens 3rd Symphony in C Minor. This is by far the best version I have ever heard, it's on a old LP by Decca, released on The World of Great Classics SPA228 in 1972 though its recording may date from 1965. Its by the Suisse Romande orchestra conducted by Ernest Ansermet.
