What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Just read that Roger and Family are playing a couple of gigs in London soon so I dug this outI

Rise Family - a great Very Best Of  -  LP.

Reminded me of seeing them a couple of times in the late 60' early 70's.

Last time at Bridlington Spa with my scooter (Lambretta SX 200) parked round the back. I stood next to Roger at the bar in the pub across the road. Of course it was not cool to say hi....wish I had.

"Strange looking band are we......."

......time to turn over to side two!

I saw them a couple of times around that time too; once in Exeter and once in Plymouth although I never saw Roger Chapman in the bar afterwards!

Hi Steve. Think Magic Sam might have just got my vote as the best of the two. I like the soulfulness of his voice especially on the first track 'That's All I Need'  and is a good counter point to 'Hoodoo Man' regarding a more contemporary blues , soul, sound. However IMO all three albums are fantastic. Take care.

Graham.
