What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

He leaves Perahia's dry barebones renditions far behind, surpasses even Angela Hewitt and I feel approaches Arrau's ultimate relevancy as well as charisma.

Schiff, might be good but I bet he can't hum as good as Glenn.

Schiff is utterly silent, but for those who want to hum along, the texts are printed in the note - based on Gould's original, and edited by none other than Maurizio Pollini.

First play. It's good to hear how the band sounded different in the early days.

First play. I can see why Gary Shaw likes this album. This is so far out man, it could have been made in Carrott Land, Camberwell

One of the best albums I've heard this, or really any year. If it wasn't for Ron's Obscure Prog thread I wouldn't have discovered these wonderful musicians.

Thanks Ron
