What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Please remember 'Le Voix Humaine' - the spectrum of viola de gamba and the spectrum of the human voice are almost the same.

It was a b/day present a couple of years ago Chords. Took a bit of getting into but I rather enjoy it now.

I love his Bach and Golschmann is an excellent partner for him.

More Bach by Gould.
The State of Wonder Goldberg Variation CD is indeed very good.

I am blown away by this new remaster from the original analogue tape done with DSD.
The reissue engineer has done good matching closely to the original Gould/Carter edits and notes.
They are right. This new CD blows away the original digital tape sourced vinyl issue.

This 70s/80s sounding rock album was actually recorded in '12. Derivative in some respects but fresh and different  enough to consider.

Thanks for the recommendation Stu.

Original triple-vinyl release from 1980. Featuring an all-star cast's impassioned anti-nuke protest in the aftermath of Three Mile Island.
