What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

On continual rotation the last few days, all the "Ozzy" era Black Sabbath albums from the new vinyl box set. Really enjoying these a lot.

As I am weaving my way through my CDs to burn to Vortexbox, it is fun to listen while I work to certain selections.  This being one of the most influential records in pop music history.

Hi Mark,

I don't mean to sidetrack this thread, but I was wondering about the Vortexbox.  Will you be running that straight into the Supernait DAC?

Happy New Year!

Best regards,

Pat

Hi Pat - no, I am running it through the Squeezebox Touch (which also serves as my internet radio) wirelessly via my home network.  The SBT has a digital out that I am running into the SN DAC; I can control the whole thing from my iPhone.

Someday I will get a Naim streamer to replace the SBT (and make Dale some $ in the process) but for now, with my employment situation being quite unsettled, I will have to stand pat with the hand I am playing now.

Happy new year to all! I'll start the year with a good one: the Simone Boccanegra with the La Scala forces, made after a highly acclaimed run in the 70s.

Cheers,
