What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread. I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.
Anyway, links:

Vinyl Polydor 1972. Very good live recording. Recommended
There aren't many EPs listed here but this one is worth a mention. An impromptu studio session when Paul B was in London. Great blues tracks. A pity they didn't make an album. This EP has been issued on a recent CD as bonus tracks on 'A Hard Road'
A 'find' and regular play.
Erika's vocals are superb - also a good recording; intimate performance presentation and improvisation with excellent bass, guitar and keyboard playing - some 'subterranian bass' in unexpected places.
Particular strong tracks are 'Other Side', I Spy and 'You remind me'
Erika does the sexy sultry voice on 'Limo' and 'Cash'.
Watch-out for the 'false ending' track too.

Another slice of vinyl I haven't played for decades. Great stuff.

Great set, my copy arrived last week but I haven't spend a lot of time with it yet.
Oliver,
They sound great, you're going to love 'em
The last sonatas (Opp. 109-111) - Kempff keeps these on a small scale, which took me some time to appreciate. There is little of the turbulence achieved by Pollini, Kovacevich or Fischer but the playing is undeniably fine and a valid alternative view of these fascinating works. Wouldn't want to have this set as my only set but love to keep it in the good company of aforementioned and others (it was my first sonata cycle, purchased in '92 I think, but it took other sets, mainly Kovacevich and Brendel, to hook me on Beethoven).
The sound is bothering me, though. I wonder if the remastered collector's edition is a worthwhile improvement?
Cheers,
EJ
