What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Stu, you seem to have very broad musical taste so it is a little bit odd that you do not like CCR (nothing wrong with that though). For me at certain point in the past it was Dylan, Beatles, CCR and not much more.

Joining you Steve with

On 80's re-issue vinyl.

They never ticked any boxes for me.

I  only have one vinyl album of their's now.

I have a load on CD and most of Johns solo stuff with other people.

Thanks to Guy/ROTF.

He has been working on me for six years trying to get me to like CCR.

I just don't get them though.

Vinyl Liberty 1971. 1st listen since upgrade over last 6 months. Bloody amazing on the new system. Really driven hard rock, especially Split Part 2. Something else for you Stu. Sorry you don't like CCR. Will try harder.

1970 Vertigo Swirl. One I was listening to earlier. Good version of Zappa's 'Willy The Pimp'.

I've seen them may times, the first about 1971. In the '90s I got to know Tony McPhee through his bass player who I also knew. He was just recovering from a stroke and had to relearn how to play the guitar. Saw him last about 4 years ago with his wife doing an acoustic blues set at the Colosseum in Watford.
