What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol.VIII)

With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

Kuma, yes, I think this is quite good.  I mean, Richter is Richter and his playing is quite recognizable but this has that live energy just slightly more than usual.  He was in top form that night.  Piano sound isn't perfect but acceptable given the performance.  His Jeux d'eau was a little fast for me.  No rolling waves in a blurry, out of focus impressionistic painting here.

Overall though, if you have many other Richter recordings you will get much of the same pieces in his core repertoire here but I think this still is a worthwhile recording to have.  I think I'm feeling quite nostalgic tonight.  I wish I had this on vinyl.

Some good classic rock. Ronnie had a great rock voice you always had the impression that the guy was 10 feet tall.

On vinyl, a most enjoyable album:-
