With 2012 almost upon us, it's time to start a fresh thread.  I've gone back to an earlier thread title because often the "why" is the most interesting part of the post.

The Congos, Heart of the Congos. Moo!

Art songs by Debussy and others, sung with rather cloudy diction and reigned in emotions but typically creamy voice by Fleming and with good support by Thibaudet.

First listen on Kempff's Beethoven Sonatas.

EJ,

You said it right. Pollini's Diabelli Variations is a nuclear engineering, going straight to the core.

My favorite Bob Belden interpretation of a popular artist.  John Scofield can be heard through out the orchestrations.

On Vinyl nearly 30 years old , slightly crackly,  but the grandeur of the sound  is pure genius and a joy to indulge in.
