aif and alac with uniti

I've just upgraded my uniti to version 3.9. The question is: does aif and alac files are  supported with this version?

I did 4 experiments, here the results:

1) song1.m4a (alac) from asset upnp is played

2) song1.m4a (alac) from USB stick is UNSUPPORTED FILE FORMAT

3) song1.aif from asset upbp is played

4) song1.aif from USB stick is played

The manual says that the 2 apple files are not supported so I do not understuad the results from 1), 3) and 4)

Please consider that may asset upnp is NOT configured to stream alac or aif to any other format.
