Nait5i and Ipod

Hi everyone, I am wondering how a Nait5i can sound with an Ipod. I am using wav files on the Ipod and I am only interested at the sound performances.

I know how it sounds with a Qute, the combination Nait5i+Ipod will sound worse?

I am not thinking of putiing a DAC between the Ipod and the Nait5i.

The reason is that I'd like to have the 50w per channell but I do not want to spend the amount needed for a Uniti or a SuperUniti

Since the 5i doesn't have a DAC, you need to use an analog connection from the iPod, and thus the iPod's DAC. That will not be as good as the UnitiQute, which takes digital out from the iPod and has a much better DAC.

I have now bought the Qute, and I will try to use it as a Preamp to the 5i, and see if I prefer the Qute directly connected to the speakers or through the 5i exploiting the +20W.
