Great News for all Monty Python Fans

They are going to start filming soon.
A space movie.
Something to look forward to.
I wonder if they can still shock the world?

I have been a fan since they started showing the BBC shows on PBS in the US. A space movie by aging Pythons will either be a blessing or a curse, I am worried it will be the latter but I hope I am wrong. I sure hope the movie script is well written, and that the Pythons are able to ad lib on set here and there.
Is it really great news? I'm afraid I'll have to reserve judgement on that.
Great news.
According to the BBC website the film is going to be called "Absolutely Anything". The same article says that although it will feature all surviving Pythons it will not be a Monty Python picture. I'm not 100% clear what this means, although it may relate to branding (i.e. the words "Monty" and "Python" will not appear in the movie or promotional material) or that other high profile actors will be involved (the article mentions Robin Williams) or that Eric Idle is yet to confirm whether he will be part of the movie.

Whether it is technically a Python movie or not is perhaps not that important provided that it is up to the very high standards of the Python movies.
Its a full Python cast written produced and directed movie.
Most of the work has been and will be done as always by Terry
Robin Williams will be in it to fill in for a lost Python.
I think thats a good choice as it will bring them in loads of backing money from the movers and shakers.
They will have more money to make this film than the £300 they had to make the others.

What did the Romans do for you?

Monty Python was part of my growing up process through later school and student days. I squeezed into the TV room in the student union whenever it was on and sat for hours afterwards deconstructing every sketch and analysing every word as you do when you're a budding intellectual. I was there and saw the parrot sketch when it first appeared on TV. I told my father he didn't like it because he didn't understand it.
And I still love watching all that but I also recognise a lot of it for the shite it was then and still is. I hated the cartoons then and just can't watch them now.
As far as I can see they're providing voices for CGI aliens with Robin Williams doing the same for a dog. Fingers crossed it's not just a big final pay day for them.
Blessed are the Cheese makers.
I am sure it will be great, but my 1st thought was a bunch of old wrinklies trying to relive the past. (I hope I'm wrong)
Space ehh ??? conjures up some ideas.
Maybe lost in space-time wrinkly old voyagers find a planet with some nubile young things running around.......... He's a very naughty boy.
This parrot is deceased.
Hope its not a just a pension plan / divorce settlement for JC.
