Trouble down loading Pic's Help Please
Posted by: Quad 33 on 04 February 2012
grrr! what am I doing wrong when I try to insert pictures of my system from flickr? The pics are fine on the flickr site and in my saved folder but they come up as little bitty pictures on the Naim forum. Is it some software I'm missing on my computer? please help
regards
Graham
I'm having the same trouble, some help from someone out there would be great!
Have you followed the instructions in the FAQ? You want to ensure you have the direct link to the picture inserted in the insert/edit image dialog box. It will then show you a preview before it applies the picture to your post. I tend to use Photobucket, which makes this very simple indeed, but I'm not so familiar with Flikr I'm afraid.
n.b. The forum should resize pictures to fit the thread margins.
Hi - yep, I've tried that. I've had to resort to posting URLs. Will try with photobucket at some point just to make sure I'm not going mad, but all my pics live in Flickr.
Thanks
And I can never post pictures from my iPAD
You wouldn't think I was in the IT industry!

Richard, you should try moderating the forum with a BT Broadband that constantly drops every 2 minutes, takes another 2-3 minutes to re-connect and at last test, is downloading at 20kps.... After numerous phone calls over the last few weeks, a BT engineer arrives tomorrow for the second time in the last few months. I'm not gettting too hopeful...
I use ImageShack. Size your pictures for email before uploading. When loaded on ImageShack click 'See full sized image', copy the image address. Go to forum, click insert picture icon and paste. then click outside the address box and you should see your picture. Works every time.
Forgot to say; when resizing for email a good size is 500-600 pixels long edge.

That last post took me 10 minutes, and 2 drops. Thankfully I now copy all text... a nightmare.
Image Shack works for me as a free image hosting site.
John.
OK, for Flickr.
Click on your picture
Click on 'Share'
Go to "Grab the HTML/BBCode", copy the code
To post, in the naim 'Post Reply' box, click on the HTML box top right, paste your code in that (and your message text if you like), click on update and your picture is there. Shazam.
Sounds more complicated than it really is...
... in my saved folder ...
