Differences between n-Stream & n-Serve control?

Posted by: adm95 on 15 February 2012

Can anyone summarise the main control/feature differences between n-Stream and n-Serve?

...I am currently familiar with n-Serve controlling my HDX, but am considering a move to a NDX (or forthcoming NDS) and wanted to understand what features I may lose/gain by doing so?

Download the apps and see for yourself or check out the naim website

Well the apps don't run unless I have the device, and the naim website gives a very high level summary :-)

Any takers? I'm sure there must be a few HDX to NDX converts out there..?

Thanks Allen - that's the sort of info I was after.

If anyone has any additional differences to mention - please post.

I'm using a Userve and UQ, so it's different than yours...but besides the above by AllenB, which I see on my n-serve,  in my case the n-stream which controls the Qute, controls the UPnP segment also.  The n-serve, which only controls the US,  only gives all that AllenB mentions when it's controlling the Serve hardwired to the Qute...streaming wirelessly, I have to use the n-stream and UPnP of the Qute to see and control the Serve....

nStream (with a streamer) also has the system automation. It's nice to control preamp with an iPad. Now if the damn thing would only have rec-select & rec-mute, I could hide the flimsy plastic remotes for good...
