Eyeconnect Instability

Posted by: John D W on 18 February 2012

I am using Eyeconnect UpNp to stream wirelessly to an ND5 XS on demo but it seems very unstable, dropping out unexpectedly. Generally I will connect with an ethernet but does anyone have similar experiences, are there alternative UPNP s which are more stable?

Also , is there any way of getting full I Tunes functionality ,album art ,complete track and album info etc, onto n Stream ?

Yes - download Majestic or Playback UPnP servers.Integrates fully with iTunes so will deliver your artwork etc without issues. You can download trial versions of both.

EyeConnect doesn't support FLAC either, so might as well replace it now before you run into that issue.

I am using Playback now from my MacBook Pro, but am eyeing a Synology NAS so may change my streaming to that (I have a UnitiQute).

Thanks guys, progress is being made! Playback is the answer, stable ,shows artwork and plays FLAC .Have bought it and it is working well.

Follow on question , I  have been reading alot about Pure Musics programme to playback through, I have downloaded the demo and it makes a huge difference to quality when playing back thru the laptop and speakers but it doesn't seem to work when streaming into the ND5. Does the ND5 in any event sidestep the i Tunes player so that Pure is irrelevant unless you route directly into a DAC or is there some way of routing the streamed signal from the Mac via Pure Music to the ND5 streamer?
