UPnP/Mac Server suggestions

Hi,

I have an NDX, which I am extremely happy with, except for UPnP. Sometimes I get perfect trouble-free performance for days, other times I have massive intolerable problems.

I am using my iMac (quad-core G7 3.4GHz, 8Gb RAM, 2TB disk) with TVMobili UPnP server as the server, and am using wired ethernet.

The problems that I experience are drop-outs (sometimes every couple of seconds!) when the buffer level keeps dipping and the server has to 'catch-up'. I can see the network served data on the Mac drops to near-zero at this time.

The problems was the same before and after the upgrade of my NDX to 24/192 boards/software and am very sure that this is a problem with the UPnP server or network, rather than NDX.

What do other people use on the Mac, or is everyone using (Naim) UPnP server devices?

Dave - Playback or Majestic. Works great on the Mac and integrates properly with an iTunes library (file structure and artwork). It's what i use to serve my iTunes to library to my NDX.
