Another Ethernet over mains question
Posted by: IanG on 05 March 2012
I read on the Internet that Ethernet over mains adaptors will work over different circuits as long as they are through the same fuse box.
I've had a look at my fuse box this evening and my downstairs sockets are on one strip of users protected by one circuit breaker. My upstairs sockets are on a separate strip protected by a second circuit breaker. The strips are marked A and B. They are all in the same fuse box though.
Could someone tell me if this arrangement represents one fuse box or will the adaptors not work if one is on an upstairs socket whilst one is on a downstairs socket ?
PS I don't want to enter into a debate on the merits of this type of Ethernet connections as things can sometimes get a little heated.
