Multi-disc Albums in iTunes

What do you do with them?  Leave them as separate albums, or combine them together?

It's obviously of trivial importance, but I thought I'd ask.

(And, of course, it doesn't just have to be in iTunes)

You can set tracks from each disc with disc 2 ,3 etc. If all album titles are the same (no disc1 ,2 3 in the title) then iTunes SHOULD list them under the one cover art.

I have a couple that absolutely refuse to list all tracks together.

I've done both, but have taken to splitting things off so I don't need to retain as much detail in track titles.

For example, I just ripped Handle's Orlando from a set of three CDs. Each track was prefixed with "Act I" etc, but I don't need to see that on my playback devices limited screens (car, iPhone, ND5) so I renamed each of the CDs Orlando: Act I, Orlando: Act II, Orlando Act III and removed the track titles prefixes.

I may start doing the same for multi movement works, etc.

iTunes tagging is so broken for classical music. I hate it.

I combine them into one album, and renumber the tracks if necessary.

I also rename albums with a 0, or 1, at the start of the title to get them to go incorrect chronological order if an artist released two albums in the same year.

I add the correct artwork too, but have one album loaded from Flac files on the computer that refuses to let me add an artwork.

I haven't bought a single track from I-tunes, Amazon, etc. Everything is from CD, or Flac, I don't see the point in paying fr uncompressed music.
