And another from the same series! There are nine though not all have emerged on film.

Interesting to note the smaller band here ...

George,

Thanks, I haven't listened to one of Beethoven's symphonies in a long time; too long.  Sounds wonderful even on my computer's Logitech speakers.

And another! Youtube is brilliant! I was only eight or nine when these seminal performances were given!

Probably the best of these concerts from Klemperer's 85th year. The Pastoral. Two "collosi" - Beethoven firstly, providing inner-most thoughts, and Klemperer allowing them the space and depth to be crystal clear ... and a group of heroes! The Philharmonia! They knew the music and after 16 years certainly understood the wealth of music that Klemperer wanted brought out, and how they do play!

I shall be away now for a few weeks, because I have to arrange a new Broadband, but please don't think I am leaving! Just a short gap of a few weeks. Time for everything to settle back into place. So I take this chance to say "au revoir" to my friends here.

For those who would wish I would go for good, please don't bad mouth me behind my back. I cannot answer it.

And to my friends, we do still have some fun here, don't we!

Watching/listening to the 9th. Apparently this is tediously slow, sounds fine to me what do I know?

Is it me or are there a lot of basses?

You will not believe how I did this, but here is a wonderful performance of the Third Brandenburg Concerto from Klemperer! [c.1960].
