A selection of choons from the Gerry McAvoy Band of Friends "Celebrating the music of Rory Gallagher".  Coming your way soon.  Cambridge Junction 18th May 2012.

Gerry McAvoy (bass) was with him for over 20 years and played on every one of Rory's studio albums, Ted McKenna (ex-Sensational Alex Harvey Band etc) was part of the late '70s/early 80s line up, which I had the pleasure of seeing a number of times.  For example, Ipswich Gaumont (now Regent) January 1979:

(Taken on an old Zenit E/50mm lens - remember those, built like a T-34 tank!)

With the sadly no longer with us Rory of course being the main man, I wasn't sure I wanted to go and see them with a stand-in guitarist.  But having watched a few of these choons, you know, I think I just might...  It is, after all, a celebration of Rory's music, not a tribute band.
