Vinyl only site in Sussex?

That was the site I was banned from buying from!!

All because I sent back a copy of Laura Marling - A Creature I Don't Know and they could not find anything wrong with it. You know how bad that first pressing was.

They gave me a refund and banned me from ordering anything else.

They also trade as Devilsjukebox on flea bay, which they banned me from as well.

Why do you ask?

but just phoned him, he seems like an okay sort of guy, perhaps just a one man band rushed off his feet?

At least i now know the album i sent back has got there and, "on a pile with others to be refunded..."

I went to a vinyl only site in Sussex a few weeks back and had my ears and eyes truly opened.  Very courteous, friendly and above all knowledgeable.  Coffee was great too.  Cannot recommend Julian's place enough....

My refund has been paid now, for the defective album + the postage i paid to return it.

So all's well that ends well ~

He said on the phone (this morning) he hadn't seen my emails, so he may have a problem with his server or i think the problem maybe he's short of staff and does to much on his own.

Maybe a job opportunity there for someone in "customer services"

I have bought quite a lot of LP from this guy and I think he is probably a bit "tetchy".

On the plus side, if he has the stock in, it arrives in time and is the best packed of any online site I know. You could drive a Sherman tank over an LP and it wouldn't show.

On the other hand he often doesn't have the stock. So it is a wait. You can phone him but he can be hard to pin down on where stock is. My alarm bells rang (shortly after Andy's banning) when I ordered a £50 record he didn't have. After many weeks and lots of calls he admitted he couldn't get it. He did give a paypal refund but less the paypal handling fee so I got just £47. I sent a polite e-mail asking for the balance and got a blasting reply. Real tirade. On the cusp of a ban I reckon!

So I will only buy from him after calling to make sure he has the stock. If you have patience to treat him with kid gloves he is fine. But watch in case he gets "tetchy".

Andy - I think Steve2 is referring to Julian H's listening emporium rather than a record shop.

....one other quick thing.

One of the best sites I buy from is www.juno.co.uk

They supply DJs with records and gear and are relatively less well known. But seriously professional, and incredibly fast. And because not many know about them you sometimes find music everyone else has run out of. So let's keep them to ourselves - Mum's the word!!

They don't keep everything but I have found some cracking stuff there.

Am currently having a great deal of fun getting him to reply over non-delivery of two lps ordered in February. He just won't reply and I'm becoming very irate and so, judging from others experiences, I expect to be barred sometime soon!

The annoying thing is that when I have bought from him on e-bay the service is really quite good (and doubly annoying: one of the items I'm waiting for he is currently selling there)

you may get a result by phoning him, using the Eastborne number on the web site.

I use Rock Box and All Your Music and have never had a problem with either. 

I used to use the wonderful Freak Emporium, but it closed as not enough folk used it. 

I've never used the site mentioned here and won't after the feedback, if I have to chase something then that is the end of the game as far I'm concerned. There was a place in Torquay I used once and had to contact them three or four times before they sent an album very poorly packed - so I won't be ordering again from them.
