Mute function on naim superuniti

I know it sounds silly but does the mute function takes out the superuniti from the network if it's kept active for a good amout of time?

Mine is connected directly with the router(with ethernet cable) and sometime, I experience a network dropout on the SU especially when I mute it(well I suppose!). Whereas my squeezebox touch is always active on the same network. After restarting the network on the SU or simply switching it on/off brings it back on the network.
