The Disco Dead, Cornell '77, three-CD set:
"Hubardo is the seventh studio album by veteran avant-metal maestros, KAYO DOT. Art Blakey: Caravan + Buhaina's Delight (Essential Jazz Classics 2013). Ripped to my US, no metadata found, had to manually edit everything.
Just arrived from CD Japan: SHM-CD version of Bobbie Gentry's penultimate album "Fancy". Looks gorgeous, and I can't wait to hear it:
Also from CD Japan: Bobbie Gentry's 1969 masterpiece "Touch 'Em With Love", also on SHM-CD. On a related matter I was very impressed with the quality of service from CD Japan. The packaging was superb too. Will definitely be ordering from them again.

Kevin, I agree with you about CD Japan I've had a few from there myself and been impressed. Do you know if the SQ of these two albums is any better than the redbooks?

Steve, just put TEWL on and... wow! It sounds 200% better than the redbook CDs...

Yes, they're much better Kuma. Not perhaps as good as UK first vinyl presses but much better than standard redbook CD versions. They are 24/96 flat transfers from the original analogue masters, done last year. I hope Universal gives the rest of her catalogue the same treatment.
Grateful Dead Barton Hall Cornell '77. 3 CD's. Sounds great and a great play list. Just came out and, reading the story about the lost tape and the Library of Congress, I had to have it. After the live shows, it is hard to go back to the studio recordings.
Double CD of live BBC recordings (1972-'77) mainly from the Paris Theatre London and from various Old Grey Whistle Test shows.
The new Nick Cave compilation, Lovely Creatures: three CDs, DVD and 256-page book plus memorabilia in deluxe box. A very nice package...
