so to get things off and running
queen--the highlander sound track
You don't see many of these! It feels fresh every time we put it on.
This is the other end of the spectrum but equally entertaining.
Merry Christmas to all.
Plugging the final hole in my Wooden Shjips collection, snaffled form Amazon for about a third of its normal cost due to a slightly damaged digipak.

A few forum recommendations; plus, bands / albums to sample where the odd Radio / Shazam track had piqued interest, so time to explore further. Now being ripped with DBPoweramp.

Lots of excellent choices there Yetizone. I'd be particularly interested to hear how you find the Seasick Steve album, hope you can post. I've really enjoyed him via YouTube and on Jools' show, but have yet actually buy anything from him. Definitely on my radar.

Joe,
MusicMagpie have a good deal on at the moment with the “Buy 4 Get 4 Free” offer, but it takes some patience wading through their endless pages of compilation albums to get to the good stuff, but it is in there if you take the time.
Seasick Steve is well worth checking out. “Songs For Elisabeth” is a (short) compilation and a good starting point for an insight as to what he does - bought this for the car / iPod. I have a few studio albums (Dog House Music / I Started Out with Nothin and I Still Got Most of It Left / Man from Another Time / Sonic Soul Surfer). There isn a duff one in there as far as i’m concerned, but Sonic Soul Surfer is my current fav. Will be filling the collection gaps with the rest. Discography.
Still remember my first exposure to him on the 2006/7 Jools Holland Hootenanny. Sat on his own with his tweaked guitar “The Three String Trance Wonder" - mesmerising. IIRC his website had something like six hits the week before, rising to something like 5 million on New Years Day. I know, I was one looking at the site wondering “who is this guy”
