Of course, when we start to compare artists between them, this is not going to be an easy journey. I admire what Mr. Anka is still doing at his age --> a new album for his fans and a CD i found very entertaining to listen to. It's not perfect or even subtile, i totally agree with you, but to ear him singing Black Hole Sun is something memorable! Big Grin

Bye.

The White Stripes - get thee behind me Satan. Jack & Meg do their stuff, less immediate than the last album - nothing to match 7 nation army or ball & biscuit, but I feel this could be a grower and something for the car / iPod

Oscar Peterson - Blues reunion. Remastered recording from 1971, not the best disc to feature OP but anything from this era with Milt Jackson on vibes and Ray Brown on bass is worth a spin imho

Viktoria Mullova & Il Giardino Armonico - Vivaldi, 5 violin concertos. Played on authentic instruments and certainly has a different feel to other recordings that I have, I Musici from 1970s and more recently Nigel Kennedy.

Two albums >

Silver Rain, Marcus Miller. Excellent stuff as usual from this guy. I discovered him when I first bought TuTu (Miles) & have been a fan ever since. I think his interpretation of Moonlight Sonata is great at this time of the evening.

Beyond Aerial Bounderies, Michael Hedges.
Why oh why didn't I get this earlier, like when I had his stuff on vinyl. His entire back catalogue is now on order at amazon for me. Acoustic guitar playing as he made very, very special.

Brothers, sisters, we don't need this fascist groove thing.........

Heaven 17 - Collection
I thought I'd ordered Penthouse and Pavement, but never mind ! The soundtrack to my late teens/early twenties so riddled with nostalgia. Some real gems here, but very dated synth music. I love that era.

New Model Army - Collection (can't remember name)
Fantastic songs for civil disobedience! F*CK THE RICH !

Marvin Gaye - What's Happenin Brother
Live performance, didn't quite capture it for me.

Foo Fighters - The Colour and the Shape
Brilliant guitars and drums. Really like this.

Coldplay "X&Y" - pretty decent

Dave Matthews Band "Stand Up" - I love this. Funky even by DMB standards, with lots of musical surprises. Great songs that will translate well to their live shows. (My first "dual-disc", seems to work just fine)

Just bought Ry Cooders latest CD

Chavez Ravine

It must be at least 10 years since his last Album although he has been involved with the Bueno Vista Social club more recently. The Cuban influence is certainly apparent on this CD.

Had a couple of listens and sounding good.
