Sounds really rather good in the car, anyway. Not been played on the main rig yet.

Re Sasha i agree with you its not mega brill - but its quite good. We've just listened to it on the main rig and production is ok and there is enough to keep me interested for a while. Nowhere near as good as the GU8 Sasha - San Fransisco tho

"Lost In Translation" soundtrack...since I'm a bit past it in the modern pop department, this seemed a good way to con my Gen X & Y friends into thinking I'm not a fossil. I can now discuss the aesthetic of Kevin Shields and Air in a post-modernistic way. ha ha

New Wilco-A Ghost is Born.

Delivered to me this am and ruined my day of paperwork. Somewhere between Being There and YHF although more like the latter. Sounds pretty good so far, but like all Wilco albums has that vague feeling that is is almost brilliant but somehow just misses.

May grow more with extended listening.

Just took delivery of this, really rather good. Has the producer who did some of Bjork's stuff and the influences are apparent in some area's IMO. Very latin but some more traditional stuff too, in both spanish (I think) and english.

Kelis - trick Me (CD Single) - like this a lot hence the single purchase

Faithless - No Roots
Hurrah! A return to form after the useless effort that was Outrospective. No Roots definitely has the feel of the natural follow up to Sunday 8pm, ie nice and chilled. Still has a Di(l)do track on it. Grrrr

The Killers - Hot Fuss
'Kin brilliant! Las Vegas boys do indie stuff to a T. I have a feeling I'll be listening to this quite a lot over the summer...

HI Phil,
I have the prev CD 'H2C' and really like that. This is a little slower, with less percussion but is still a reasonable listen -- ok if you like folky stuff (very stereotypical comment).

If you have not got H2C then I'd get that Cd over this one...

You're clearly not a close reader of sleeve notes. I requested a "sensitive" critic hat 'cause I played bass on, recorded and co-produced Sweet As Hell. But hey, "a reasonable listen" is good enough for me

Oh and I have a copy of H2C (have to say I prefer Sweet As Hell), but then I played bass on that too

The Voodoo Dolls disk is great roots rock and blues from a smokey bar.The Morrison sounds like Memphis in 1959...with Jerry Lee's sister on piano.Lavay Smith is big band blues and swing. Rosetta Tharpe...have you ever heard gospel played on a Les Paul gold top, overdriving a Fender tweed amp? The real deal.
Southern Culture is swamp rock at its finest. And Oscar Peterson is Oscar Peterson. And Snooks Eaglin is New Orleans bar band rock and funk.
