No roots-Faithless, surprisingly a good album.

My name is taken from lowest region of the world, a dank, gloomy pit, surrounded by a wall of bronze, and beyond that a three-fold layer of night; it is one of the first entities to exist in the universe; primarily the prison for defeated gods and a place of punishment for sinners-just like my sense of humour!

My last batch:

The Cure - The Cure ; A welcome return to form, the best Cure album since I don't know when (I prefer it to Disintegration)

Soundgarden - Badmotorfinger
Echo & The Bunnymen - Porcupine & Heaven up Here
The Doors - Morrison Hotel ; These 4 are just me replacing my old vinyl copies for CD's

Faithless - No Roots : I like it - a grower.

Tool - Aenima ; Too soon to tell, but I like it so far

John Fruciante - People Cast Shadows ; Far better than anything that the Chillis have done since Mother's Milk.

ZZ Top - Mexicana ; A best-of album, pretty much what you would expect but I would have prefered more early stuff.

Thru the door this morning:
Pako & Frederik - atlantic breakers (GU) for futher on this see above! This is a grower, especially if, as ag mentioned above, you are into the GU labels output!
Starsailor - Love is Here, & Silence is Easy (purchased based on the Glastenbury gig I saw on BBC3). INstant like to both of these, but Love is Here seems more accessible...

Kings of Convenience - Riot On An Empty Street. I remember playing 'Quiet is the New Loud' to a few people when it first came out and how rapidly it caught on. This new one is good, but is it as special? Probably.

Tricky - Maxinquaye How times passes when you're having fun (or working). Finally got round to buying it.

Franz Ferdinand - Franz Ferdinand So now, so maybe 'so last week' next week?

Muse - Absolution What an epic album! Top stuff!!

Algers,

Where did you buy the Breakestra? I expected that one on my doorstep but no- out of stock (at Stones Throw's partner online store).

Anyway, I have Part 2 and it's a blast!
Posted on: 08 July 2004 by ErikL
Reissued format? What does this mean?

How much for Part 1 in GBP?

[EDIT: Does this mean some overseas reissue? I see Amazon US has the Part 2 I own, plus 1 and 2 as pricey imports.]

[EDIT 2: Wait, what I own is "Live Mix", and the two imports are "Live Mixtape". What does it all mean? Confused]

Disco Classics - Ministry of Sound. I had a right giggle listening to this - remined me of my teens in various miners welfare clubs leering at the laidiiieess.... Eek

Live At The Apollo, Vol II
In The Jungle Groove

Nick,

James Brown is excellent. You hippies were too busy with the hash and Ten Years After records to notice.

Now behave yourself.

Feedback - Rush, 8 classic tracks re-done. Not a great success overall, as usual the originals are still best. Crossroads,Summertime Blues, the Seeker etc. 5/10.

Wonderful albums - haven't played much else since purchasing them a short while ago.

I was 20 in 1971 - can't understand how I've only just come to know of him.
