The King's Speech

We caught a preview showing of this yesterday and really enjoyed a thoughtful, funny and very human story; not quite the starchy costume drama I'd rather feared.

Firth is brilliant as the reluctant stuttering King but Geoffrey Rush and Helena Bonham Carter as his therapist and wife respectively are equally excellent and that triumvirate is the core of the movie. Firth is tipped for an Oscar but I'm not sure I've ever seen Bonham-Carter quite as good either.

We are going to see this later in the week when it opens at our local cinema, so thanks for your positive comments.

Firth can do no wrong at the moment whilst we have both been Rush fans since his brilliant performance in Shine.

Looking forward to it......... Smile
