A little more modern but by no means any less beatastic.

In the nineties Haitink was set to record a complete Bruckner symphony cycle with the Vienna Philharmonic. The cycle was cut short halfway, with the 8th the last to be issued. It is a beautifully proportioned, sustained reading, a tad less involving than the 2005 Concertgebouw recording but still very good and much better recorded.

Nice call, EJ : )

Just heaved out this huge old 12 x Philips LP box-set, (symphs no.s 0 - 9), very tatty on the outside but inside the vinyl is all lovely condition, the 1960's recording and music of sinfonie nr.0 very soothing, [to start with anyway] and going down well with a glass of red wine.

Isn't it strange having a symphony numbered ...0 ? Confused

Original version - it says in the libreto.

Rick Smith (Underworld) "Bungalow with Stairs", limited edition with Karl Hyde exhibition catalogue, just arrived, first play.

Sarah just said 'This is so much better than 'Barking', I think so too, very mellow, and most definitely not europop.
