Valentina Lisitsa & (husband) Alexei Kuznetsoff playing music for two pianos in a pristine, with no edits 1996 recording on AUDIOFON.

John von Rhein, the music critic of the Chicago Tribune wrote:

"...I cannot recall when I have heard a more exciting or more accomplished two-piano team. They have the colossal technique and temperament you associate with pianists of the Russian school; they also have a virtually flawless ensemble, the kind most duos take years to achieve, if they are ever so fortunate"

Rachmaninoff: Suite No.1, Op. 5

Chopin: Rondo, Op.73

Liszt: Don Juan

Shostakovich: Suite, Op.6

Highly recommended, if you can find it anywhere.

Hi Jeremy I adore this album. I've had mixed responses when I've posted it before. Always thought about purchasing the album she released after this. Have you got it?

Flettster,

Me too, I love it but reviews don't really rate it and singled out for derision a track I really quite like. Will definitely get the later and earlier albums, I don't have them yet.

Hi Claude,

I am new to Buddy Guy myself. I just received this one and Living Proof. This was the first listen and I do like it. But hopefully others can comment further and give you a better idea about it.

Best regards,
Pat

Just heard a track with Miles Davis on it that I liked. Eek

John Lee Hooker/ Miles Davis/ Taj Mahal - End Credits from OST of The Hot Spot.

Have this combination done any other stuff?

Slowly getting used to Hahn's rather glossy take on these works. Has anyone listened to Julia Fischer's recording of these same works?
