Any good?
Yes, pretty good. I have an original issue CD that is good and you can really crank it up, but first impressions are that this is better.

New Mofi pressing. Sounding very good with little surface noise. Nice.

So what do you think?
I think it's excellent. Slightly louder than the original Japan for US CD release which was my previous reference, but no nasties and much better than the first remaster. It breathes.

If you want a classy entry into the world of Drum & Bass try this gem.

[Emotional rescue is] Still one of my fave Stones albums.
Stu,
I'm gonna take a punt here and reckon that you really rate
Black and Blue too

^ Brilliant, it's a big fave of mine too. I mean The Exile is just so easy to like but sometimes you're just looking for a bit more of a good time....
Chris
edit: too bad about the gig

Stu, for some reason I think the Queen's Elm on Fulham Rd may have figured in your life around that time!

Just over halfway through the Fischer cycle. From these recordings, it's clear she had an amazing grasp of structure and feeling for tempo and musical lines - I'd say that in general, she's better than everyone else I have heard perform the cycle in its entirety.
However, the recordings never hide the fact that they consist of a patchwork of sessions. Notes are spliced in with rather more carelessness than I had expected to find, and background noise varies per take. The recorded sound is OKish, but nothing to write home about.
So far, these don't replace my favorite sets by Stephen Kovacevich and Alfred Brendel, but I am glad to have them in my collection as the playing is undeniably great.
