Debs,

I did not have a chance to respond to your question about the Brahms Sonatas ECM disc.
It is a lovely recording which I am sure that you will enjoy, that is if you like Romantic music. Kim Kashkashian (viola) plays with great talent and emotions those late works written in 1894, three years before the composer's death. Levine on the piano is just O.K. but the music is so appealing and the viola's sound is just exquisite that the disc became my favorite Brahms for quiet times.

Chris Squire 'Fish out of Water', Joni Mitchell 'The Hissing of Summer Lawns'.
Good year 1975, think I'll join Jermey and jump a couple of years forward and play Pink Floyd 'Animals', still my favourite Floyd album, some nice rough edges, although 'Wish You Were Here' is still a close call as a favourite.

Also a fave. Years and years ago, I heard it on a friend's high-end system. Can't remember the full system, but the cart was a Koetsu Rosewood (signature?) and the speakers were big panels; Maggies, I think. A musical and hifi epiphany, to be sure.
