Alas, I agree.
I swear some of the younger staff think I can't possibly know how to work a cd.
Or if I buy something not twenty plus years old they smile condescendingly as if I'm trying to join da yoof.
I usually don't stay long enough to buy anything, on account of the music they play, oh and their prices!
I always go armed with ipod and high volume.
I have cracked this problem. I have a totally gorgeous young lady who works at the gallery on Saturdays. I just send her in with a list and the cash. The HMV sales staff (male and female) usually fall all over her and when she asks for uncool stuff for me they just nod and murmur "cool"...![]()
Might I have a job please?

How do you get on with 10,000 maniacs unplugged?

There is something about US indie folk rock which is just terrific. This is not a truly great album but it has merits and is worth a listen imho.

Just had the two listens today and I think I'm going to be hooked. She does have a very fine voice. More tomorrow and then I'll get Tigerlilly and see how it goes from there. Perhaps some early 10 000 maniacs?
Ps, If it is not a rude question, what is the gallery?

It is not a rude question and I apologise for not being clear. I am Creative Director of an Art gallery so the 'gallery' is basically a shop where we sell art and other gorgeous things.

Well that is most fascinating. Do you have a web site or some such means of viewing from afar?

They vary subtly - every one is "driven" by one of the quintet's members, who gives them the individual note. Still, they have a clear water mark. I like the five-ness, very much. With a slight preference for P.A.R.T.E.

Finally have all 5 of Fresu's "5" series together. They are all fabulous. Buy them all !
cheers
Stefan
Stefan,
Unfortunately, I am still stuck with only one fifth of the Fresu's 5. Do they vary in ensemble and style, and if they do, which one would you recommend?
What are Fresu's 5, please (assume we're talking about Paolo)?

Bought and tried this today, and am underwhelmed. Loved the video and idea, but not so much the results (PM's guitar playing excluded…)
The other CD I bought today is great OTOH. More, later
cheers

Britt doing his Spoon thing. Not hearing anything "new", but he and the band do it very well. It will be in the regular rotation, at least for the short term.

Samples of what seems like another great Moreland and Arbuckle disc. There is a great video up on their site for you to look at.

Not at the moment but we will in April. We are moving the gallery from town center to a wonderful Victorian ex carpet factory

Although my knowledge of art sums to zero, I am very much interested. I'd be obliged, if you remember, if you would post the web address when it's running please?
Good luck with the move, I can only imagine the stress involved.

Paul.
