Let me kick in, here, too: I fully agree with your comments, Drood. Wollny is one eyebrow raiser with what he does. He's so versatile, and trying something DIFFERENT is already admirable. In that sense, both Hexentanz and Wunderkammer are very high on my list.

cheers
Stefan

Very interesting album, in my view. What do you make of it, Adrian?

Nigel - I have been looking at this one for months and never quite got to buying it. Glad now that I did though. Hard to describe but I'll give it go - modern day abstract jazz influenced harpsicord music with a dash of Philip Glass! Definitely not an easy listen and certainly not something I would try and recommend to anyone unless they wanted to try. Going to play again tomorrow in the car - think it will be good to listen to whilst driving around.

It grew on me. I really admire Wollny for trying to do something different with this album, and his work with Kruse and Schaeffer in the [em] trio, which I see you're also listening to. I'd also recommend his solo piano CD, Hexentanz, if you haven't already got it.

I'm relaxing to this EP from The Innocence Mission:

If a song more beautiful than "Pioneering" has been written, I'd like to hear it.

Regards
Nigel

On vinyl but with a different cover. Mine's the Sunset (cheap) re-issue of long ago. I remember listening to The Skeleton And The Roundabout on Radio Caroline...

Including one of the most interesting vocalists and songwriters of our time on a superb first album from the original Manchester baggies.

Probably the two most famous Russian piano concertos. Sound is only so so but the playing is legendary.

I like this, i think it's time to explore more of their stuff.

Any suggestions from Marillionists gratefully received. Paul.

I have to add a few more Richter recordings to my portfolio.
