I have not played this album in many years. I went to see him play this in concert once.

I love it, used to own it, borrowed from library frequently, downloaded this a.m. so it is back in the collection. Some of my favorite Scofield I have heard and Foster is nearly as tasty as DeJohnette.

I saw that Kenny Barron Trio with Riley and Drummond on January 19, 1997 (still have ticket stub) at a jazz society show at a Portland Sheraton Hotel ballroom. Sat in the second row and was amazed at Ben Riley. $22 USD for a full afternoon and evening of jazz with the trio as headliners.

Kenny Barron Trio

On a great label in New York City, Reservoir Records. This trio backed Stan Getz on some recordings and tours.

Gratuitous, puerile, confrontational, homophobic... but also oozing gangsta cool and quite musically accomplished.
