It pisses me off when you have to buy tickets so far in advance that you don't know what you might have to listen to.
I was really looking forward to his gig, I'm not so sure now, I hope he will do other stuff too.
Howard, the album is quickly growing on me.
First half of the concert is going to be the new album.
Second half will be Peter doing his own songs with orchestra - so new interpretations.
I think it will be a good event. Gabriel is always very inspiring live. Let's hope he continues to be.

I like the whole series of DG box sets in this format.

Guys, this iPod thing that you are talking about, is it square, white and with a screen?
Was an Apple user before migrating to PCs. Started with the Apple IIe and had one of the first generation Mac Powerbooks. Then had to switch to PCs. Not been a part of the iPod phenomenon. Which iPod would you guys recommend for someone just getting into that lifestyle?
By the way, I too never travel without my large parts.

Oliver,
The Fournier/Gulda Beethoven is the only disc that I have from the Original Masters series. What else would you recommend?

Tesla - The Great Radio Controversy
God this is rough: skips like a b*****d and warped all to heck & back. Despite this, with the neighbours out, a bottle of Innis & Gunn on the go, and the 152 & 155XS doing the business in fine style, what's not to like?

Lita Ford - Stiletto
Ignore the cover photo that makes it look like she's spent the night in a haystack. Ignore your initial impression that it's competent but nothing special. There's a couple of absolute killer tracks on here. Pre-loved vinyl from Ben's in Guildford.

Narciso Yepes baroque lute
Recordings: Studio Fonogram, Madrid 1972 & 1973
Archiv Produkion 2 x LP box-set @ 1973
I would like to explore this one but couldn't find it on CD.
This looks like it here at Amazon, but at £49 for a 2 x cd set it's very expensive. The 2 lp box-set cost me £8 from eBay, but is in near mint condition.
It always takes me a minute or two for my mind to acclimatize to the twangy lute sound but Narciso Yepes quickly makes this adjustment very enjoyable for one to follow his style of musical flow. In fact he makes it all sound so easy, to play a lute i mean. Looking at the big picture of the instrument (from the sleeve-notes in lp box) it has 4 x pairs of longer bass strings, 8 pairs of shorter strings, and 2 higher pitch single strings. So this totals 26 strings?.., and each one with a tuning key! (someone correct me if i'm wrong here)
To my way of thinking, this must be a very difficult instrument to learn to play at high standard, but Narciso Yepes makes is seem so fascinatingly easy.
