Nigel,

Does that include all the 555 sonatas? Honestly, is it a box-set or a crate?

Hi Haim, yes it does - it's the first complete survey by Scott Ross, who died shortly after completing it. Scarlatti was one of my "discoveries" in 2009, I had my eye on this set for months before I saw it at a good price. As boxes go it's... nearly a cube!

I think this is the best Garbarek album. Buena Hora, Buenos Vientos is a superb track.

I have fond memories of seeing the band perform this album at Manchester RNCM, back in the early nineties, I guess. A wonderful concert, which drew a standing ovation (not ovator!) from the audience. It was also one of my entry points into the world of jazz, although my interest in the genre only fully ignited when I bought my Naim system four years ago.

From the Lion's Mouth is a true bona fide classic album from start to finish pity it costs so much money now to get a cd copy.

I've made it through 3 of them so far - a great box set.

Aah should have realised who you were. The name didn't trigger with me. Mind you that is usually because the Rhythm section are the unsung heroes.

Are there any plans to release Lions Mouth again Mike as I didn't realise it was out on cd until it was too late?

Not too many postings coming up because of a three week business trip to Delhi, Shanghai and Tokyo. Tokyo should be good to look out Japanese editions.

Interesting is the right word - not had time to listen really closely all through - and won't be able too now until back from travel. But pretty good so far.
