Next to Eldorado, quite possibly - but ELO made many fine albums - Jeff Lynne tried to take music to where he thought the Beatles might have taken it if they hadn't split up; whether he succeeded who knows, but he did make some exceedingly fine music. Jeff Lynne considers A New World Record and Out of the Blue to be the ELO's crowning achievements.

Side Three (Concerto for a Rainy Day) is my favourite part of Out of the Blue.

Great album.

Annie Haslam what a great singer - the best vocalist ever to grace a progressive rock outfit IMHO.

Made on an ancient Amiga 1200 and an 808, and sounding like a long lost Kraftwerk record...

Best record of 2010?

For me, anyhow. It came out last summer.
