All the talk elsewhere, time for:-
Just listened to the samples of her new album on the MCC website. MCC as before.

Hmmm... some nasty boom/resonance thing going on when low strings are hit. Anyone else have a problem with this CD? Is it the recording or do I have a room mode issue?

Very nice indeed... (I'm not arguing)

On CD, another way of getting a RT fix:-

So many mentions of Klaus just meant I had to give this an airing.
Klaus + Lisa Gerrard (Dead can Dance) = one amazing duo.
If you like them both - an amazing musical
result.
This will be next up -

Should round the evening off very nicely.

So looking forward to tomorrow night's gig. Family outing and probably the band we all collectively like best in my household.

I have this one in wish list for imminent purchase as I gradually buy up the Schulze back catalogue. Glad to hear it is good.

The recording is fine - it must be you!! My copy of their new album arrived today - I've not played it yet but it's supposedly even better.

Oh well, maybe I need to experiment with speaker position, or something. Anyway, this, on the other hand, sounds wonderfully lucid tonight:

A remarkably plain cover for such a great album.

Hi Lontano,
I doubt very much you will be disapointed with the purchase.
There are rumours of another tour shortly - that would be a result.
I have been watching your playlist as it is spookily similar to mine.
You have even made me dig out all my early Genesis for a long overdue airing. I thank you for that.

The names say all that needs to be said.

Indeed; a fine selection. Is it an old ECM?

Thanks for that info Steve. I will definitely go if they come round. I am currently playing Kontinuum on spotify - like this. Not sure why I have waited so long to buy into Schulze when this is my kind of music. Guess there are just not enough hours in the day to try it all. Glad you are enjoying your Genesis - always have been and always will be my favourite band as it is what I grew up on in my musically formative years.

Yep - 1983.

One of the best from 09 for me.

And one of the best. As Adrian says, with that line up, how coudl it be bad?

Thing with Wheeler is that he gets good results from all his musicians. Like this one a lot.
Kenny Wheeler trumpet, flugelhorn
Evan Parker soprano and tenor saxophones
Eje Thelin trombone
Tom van der Geld vibraharp
Kenny Wheeler double-bass
Edward Vesala drums

Wonderful album ... It sounds great on vinyl or CD but on silver disc make sure you get the remastered vesrion

Does not make sense as ECM rarely overdub. That came off the ECM website but I have just gone and got the CD and bass is played by J.F.Jenny-Clark.

Looks very interesting. Evan Parker plays on the fine double CD "Music for Large and Small Ensembles", but I didn't know Wheeler had recorded with Edward Vesala.

That makes more sense!!
And now I can report that the new Ali Farka Toure and Toumani Diabati album is excellent.
