Lovely album.
Yes. What a shame Harriet seems to have retired. Super stuff.

Two new(ish) piano CDs from ECM this morning. I really enjoyed this (I think it would sound even better late at night):
Then the new Battaglia, which I found harder going - not very pastoral sounding either!
Now this excellent 4CD compilation from Naxos:
The 300 page book(let) that comes with the set is worth the asking price in its own right.

Manu Katche - Playground.
Another disc purchased yesterday, not as engaging as Neighbourhood on first listen, but will give it time.
Regards
Nic

I agree with you there Nic - a little more ordinary than the first. Anyway, his new one - Third Round is out in the next few weeks.

I had better play Couturier again then. I did not connect first time.

Any idea what else ECM have lined up in the next month or two? Seems to be a slow start to the year from them so far.

I am really looking forward to Arild (awesome rerelease of his three albums "Clouds In My Head", "Shimri" and "Green Shading Into Blue" -they have never had a CD release) Rypdal and Tibbetts and looking forward to how Food sound on ECM - to date they have been on Rune Gramofone

Excellent. The Arild sounds good, and I can plug the Chick Corea gap in my collection. Paul Motian is always good value, and,as you say, Food on ECM could be fun. The Bjorstad I've heard sounds nice, but bland, and I feel I only need one Katche album, so I'll pass on those. In the new series, the Dutilleux CD looks promising - he's an interesting composer who I think would benefit from ECM's meticulous approach to sound engineering.

Currently playing this as well - perfect ambient music to get lost in.

Not a bad album for a 79 year old.
