Great memories of a wet showground in Leeds:-

They were capable of great music - then as most things in life - went in different directions.

Domino LOUD is still plenty good though.

Next up will be Home By The Sea from Mama.

Afternoon will end with Trick of the Tail and Trespass.

Giving this another go:-

I still think it's a musically lazy album. He more or less speaks all the words, with a few minimalist orchestrations added.
Prehaps it will sound better as a live presentation, not that a huge venue like the O2 is likely to add to it, (apart from the revenue from 20,000 seats x2).
An intimate album might be a description, not lending it self to an UP type show, hence my comments.

I hope I am proved wrong.

Interesting Howard - lazy, not in my books. A lot of work and attention to detail has gone into this. Gabriel creates a great mood and this is wonderful night time listening. So far for ME this is the album of the year Smile

Fantastic guitar virtuosity from both.

The cd is now as rare as the poo from a rocking horse which is a real shame as my cd has a nasty scratch and could do with replacing.

Re PG, You Scratch ..... better , not great the 2nd time. I am not saying he has not put any effort into it, for me it just seems not.
Do you really think the O2 is going to be right for this album?
Perhaps they will light candles and turn off all the lights?

Now on CD :-

I think O2 will be fine - gabriel is a master of live performance. Listen to it after a few glasses of wine, lights low and as loud as you can.

I'm sure we will all have a good time.

Here we go - first concentrated listen if I can sit myself down for the full two hours. As much Amos as Bush IMHO.

Earlier - Curios. Tom Cawley, the pianist in this trio, is featured playing piano on Peter Gabriel's Scratch My Back and will be undertaking piano duties on the upcoming tour.

Think I'll take Newsom one step at a time and disc one completed.
Now - Pollini and his new Bach recording. He certainly seems to me to be one of the heavier breathers on the recording circuit. On my Pollini Nocturnes disc you can hear him breathing quite deeply and the same on the opening of this disc as well. Also, he seems to have been getting a few piano lessons from Keith Jarrett as I am sure I could hear him humming away there on track 2.
