Very good on first listen - just the right mix of freedom and structure plus some groovy electric piano on the title track. I borrowed it from the library, but I'll be buying a copy.

Lost his Celtic Groove if not his Rn'B groove.
And although nobody knows is a great song it was unfortunately played to death by a "classic!" radio station that was always on in a job I had at the time.

No better way to kill a song for someone.

must give it a listen 20 years on.

SJB

Funny that it was the only album of his I could get into. Met him during his Planxty days and he is a really nice guy.

JJ Cale - Troubadour

I dunno, you wait ages for a JJ Cale album and then three turn up at once. Picked up a bag of tasty treats this morning from the local used record emporium. Jolly nice it is too.

Thank god I didn't listen any of her earlier works then.

Bill Evan 'Vanguard' dropped through this morning, so will get an airing tonight.................... great minds and all that

I'm sure you'll enjoy both! With the Bill Evans, be aware that the first track after the vocal introduction cuts out for a few seconds(there was a brief power cut during the recording session). Before this point, there are a few clicks due where bass strings hit the fingerboard, and these sound very much like the glitches you hear on scratched CDs. I thought I had a faulty set until I "read the manual". Smile

Cheers for that Smile
