'Antony And The Johnsons' is the eponymous debut album from the unconventional New York-based combo. With their unique appearance and a sound steeped in bluesy, torchlit noir, the band have created an album that is as endearing as it is avant-garde. Includes the tracks 'Twilight' and 'Hitler In My Heart'.

Still for me one of those rare albums that when you stumble across it, it just gets under your skin for life.

Keep meaning to buy an Anthony album. Is this the best?

imho yes

I was a little disappointed with this on first play and so have resolved to give it a fair audition today.

This is the point at which I admit how thick I am.

I was under the impression that this was new material and thus on first play was dissappointed that it sounding excactly like three of his albums that I already own and adore.

When I buy new cds I instantly import them into itunes and onto ipod before I listen and thus I don't have the cd sleeve to hand when I listen.

Having listened carefully this morning I recoginised the tracks which prompted me to read the cd notes to discover that it is fact just a reissue of said three albums.

Doh!

I buy so much music that a gaff like this was bound to happen sooner or later.
