Lontano we'll compare notes Thursday week.
Now on CD:-
AFIAKT the songs are more or less the same but "enhanced" with orchestra and choir, with pleasing results.
Doing their own music Elbow keep to the framework they themselves have created. Unlike a recent re-interpretation of other peoples work by another act.

What do you think of it?
Stu
My LP copy is odd, most of it okay but a small section somewhere in the middle of each record side there lies a lot of surface noise that gradually intrudes (snap crackle and pop) and then goes away again. Never known an LP quite like this one!
Debs
Debs,
I will check my CD version for snap, crackle and pops as they be deliberate.
Jono
Hi Jono,
I couldn't tell from listening to this album on Spotify...
But i've played my LP copy a few times now on the LP12, and it's so full of interesting noises the background crackles don't spoil the music. I can confirm the background is very quiet mostly and in only some places there is something that sounds like a worn record(?)
My copy looks in good nick, and i think it plays well, don't really know, but it's good fun to play again, each time brings something new to me out of this music, and i can see (hear) why people like this album so much!
Just put it on again! : )

Debs, the cd of Odelay has a few deliberate crackles and pops on it, presumably as the records sampled had them on to begin with.
From memory, there's some before 'Where It's At' starts that mimic the start of a record, for instance. If they're also on the vinyl, I'm guessing that's the first track on your side B, which probably doesn't help!
CC (two turntables and a microphone)
