Piano Quartet No. 1 in G minor, Op. 25
Piano Quartet No. 3 in C minor ("Werther"), Op. 60

Beaux Arts Trio with Walter Trampler (viola)

Have been really digging into the C minor Piano Quartet lately. What an astounding piece of music of the highest order; it has it all. The arresting despair of the solitary octaves on the piano to start against the sad questions presented by a seemingly united violin, viola, cello. Then suddenly we go rip roaring through a brilliant, rhythmic Brahmsian counter theme, with an all or nothing, take no prisoners rush. To me this surpasses most rock & roll to date. Closest thing by miles would be some of the best Led Zeppelin.

Agreed. This is a real anti-dote to the false legend that Brahms is dull. I have the Busch Quartet playing this, and they tear into this music as if it may be the last music ever played! This music certainly takes no prisoners along the way!

Not something to listen to every day, but sometimes only the highest proof will do - More Spiritus than Wodka!

In eager anticipation of the upcoming release of three early Arild Andersen albums for the first time on CD, I have had to resort to my vinyl version. This is music that should be heard with no background noise so cannot wait for the CD release coming up.

I just saw the latest video she did with Beyonce. Horrible song and the video is a cheap Tarantino rip off, very disappointing IMO.

Concur. This "artist" is unlistenable. Don't even get me started on the garbage that is the Black Eyed Peas.
