What did you get, Mark ? How do like them ?

regards,

Hi Jeff,

I just have some Focal JmLabs Utopia Be L-R on home demo. They are from the same range as my existing speakers, still floorstanders, but considerably bigger with extra drivers and a much fuller sound. The jury is still out.

Enjoy your weekend.

Hi Mark

It is okay, it hasn't really grabbed me, but I try it from time to time and enjoy it.

Enjoy your speaker trial.

A nice album of guitar and cello duets, featuring the music of De Falla, Granados, etc. If you like the recent ECM album, "Asturiana", give this a try.

Not much like The Knife, but then, what is? She has more of a laidback, disco sound, I suppose. This review crams in way too many different references, but it's about right.

I have this on cd, the vinyl has a different cover and was sold out when I got it last autumn, I think. Maybe it's had another release since...

It's the most lo-fi recording I've ever known - the tape hiss is unbelievable - there's a few duff tunes, and she can't really sing. Didn't stop it making into a few best-of-last-year lists though. what did he say is a really great track you may already have heard. Check the bassline.

Thanks sounds like I should investigate the album.

Here ya go CC grab yourself a copy..

That was playing in Fnac in Paris when I visited last October. Bought it on impulse, it's a lovely album.

Need to hear it though.

Stu,

When it comes to Electronic music that double album in like jumping into the sea with a bunch of hungry sharks waiting to gobble you up.

The Album is called Oversteps by Autechre and they are an aquired taste like the finest wine or food.
