I had read a (bad) review of this CD, but was curious to hear how I would like it. And a good decision it was ! Generally not being a great fan of cross-over exercises, I do like the inclusion of a chamber orchestra into the Jazz combo. Also, having Joshua Redman as a special appearance gives it even more depth (and fun).
Lessons learned ? Yes. Don't always trust reviews. Good ones as well as bad ones. Trust your ears. Or mine. Or both.
Couple of new arrivals still waiting to be properly heard. After closing the quarter (strongly…), this will be part of my Easter program.
cheers
Stefan

Haim,
Senso appears as the second CD in my iTunes Collection (of 21600 tracks) - which helps to be seen and remembered, but there are all kind of other reasons to play this often: In the car, on the bike, in the forest, and - in front of the system. Great CD.
Cheers
Stefan

It's a list of things I have listened to today, in the office, home and whilst driving around sometimes not the whole album.
I don't watch much TV Haim and also very seldom listen to a whole album all the way through unless I am doing something else at the same time or I am in the "groove".
It is difficult for me to sit down and listen to whole album sometimes as my attention span got killed when I had a stress breakdown at work a few years back.
I also find it very difficult to read books due to the same problem.
ewemon,
I was guessing that you probably had a play list set on random on your iPod.
You definitely covering a lot of musical ground. I am just the opposite; letting everything play through and even in the car I quite often listen to a disc twice before I switch over. It is my way to relax and familiarize myself better with the music.
Regards,
Haim
I have always been one of those guys who if the music didn't grab me within the first 10 - 30 seconds that was it. Off it went

Dean..
I sometimes wonder whether this is really jazz? It gets called jazz but I am not so sure it is.

Stefan - nice to see you here again and congrats on the strong quarter! I am also not a fan of crossovers but this is a good disc. I have read so many good reviews of it. It is a big and accomplished step forward for Brad. At least he is trying to innovate.
