Fred Hersch in preparation to his live performance on Saturday.
Doug,
Thank you for the all Beethoven piano trios information. Now, all I have to do is go and spend some money.

Ludwig van Beethoven: Piano Variations, Florian Uhlig (piano)
Haim, of course you know Stefan is right. Credo is one of my very favorite albums too. I rarely listen to the bookends (Corigliano and Pärt) but always the real meat in between, which is of course Beethoven's Choral Fantasy in d minor and the Tempest Piano sonata in c minor. Two of the finest keys to be in !!

If you like the one above this is a great later day set. That's if you don't already have it.

quote:Debs,
I bought a copy last year,It looked mint after i mothed it.
It went in the bin Played to death.
Stu,
that was bad luck! : (
My copy is not perfect with some surface noise which fortunately can't be heard over the music.
It certainly digs very deep in the bass, very pleased with the pressings. I never gave this band a serious listen back in the 80's so this is all fairly new to me now, and it's so enjoyable i can well understand why someone would play this vinyl to death ; )

Just got a bunch of Stockfisch albums directly from Germany, the sound quality of these recordings is just outstanding. All on Hybrid SACD.
This is the vinyl, the SACD is actually a tribute to Gershwin
