Having a hard time appreciating this Oldie and will switch over to his fresher work soon:

Keeping it in the "Family", next on the playlist

(with a poor attempt at singing...)

And adding this more energetic album to the playlist to wake up again

I am so disappointed with this Jedwood/Jennifer Mayer release. Just played the CD (which came with the vinyl) and my flabber was ghasted. How could a talented artist like JM could produce this pap Eek The vinyl will never be played by me, in the hope that someone would offer me a supply of bitter lemons in exchange.

I got that along with "Where The Light Is" and after the first 2 tracks of "Battle Studies" my thought was: "That Jennifer really F*cked him up!". I couldn't finish all the tracks and went on to the Live-CD: to me(!) it surpassed BS (and we know what that is!) on all fronts and it even made me like some songs I skipped halfway before hearing this! So if "Where The Light Is" is not part of your collection yet, maybe you should check that out; he deserves credit Cool

Hi HF,

I have "Where The Light Is"; "Try!"; "Village Sessions" & "Room for Squares" which are I enjoy immensely. Don't like "Continum" as much, it's ok, especially with the live DVD. I think when you self produce your material, objectivity suffers. An outside producer would have said this material was SH*T and go away and create some meaningful music.

Only my second listen but I really like it, got a free EP with it that I haven't played yet.

Hello Dennis,

That's my collection too except for the "Village Sessions" (not to be had here, unfortunately...) and I've got "Heavier Things". Nice to see we are on the same bandwidth when it comes to the scores we give his albums. Good to see most of his work is really enjoyable! Cool

I have finally given up with John Mayer. Have all his releases excluding the new one. His pop releases are for me "light", the musical equivalent of drinking cherryade. It will sell truckloads in certain places as a result. I just find his voice sickly sweet as well. Not often I dislike something that is supposedly good. Sorry chaps.

I never had a chance to copy this before coming away this time, and then lo and behold - a copy turns up on the ship out of the blue. A big thanks to whoever sent me it! Winker
